Pre-shock CPR is a feature of some of Medtronic Physio-Control defibrillators in AED mode, which allows rescuers to provide CPR while the defibrillator is charging configured. Some clinical studies suggest that reducing "hands off" time before defibrillation may improve shock success. This video shows the two different modes (vs. standard CPR on Preshock), while the defibrillator analyzes and charges at 200 joules or 360 joules. Although time-to-shock increases with pre-shock CPR, reduces hands-offTime significantly. Current ACLS guidelines for manual defibrillators (Lifepak 12 is configured with the AED in this event) recommends CPR while the defibrillator is charged, in order to minimize their hands. ---- StatReview project is an educational initiative for the rescuers with automated external defibrillators (AEDs) that can be used in their workplaces, public places or at home to familiarize yourself.
